The pbs is practially the same as the pcr, besided the lay down servo kit, you may get the pbs cheaper than the pcr..
I have come to the conclusion that the standard PBS RTR is either discontinued or on its way out. I did plenty on research on 1/8 buggys before I bought my PBS/PCR a couple of weeks ago. I couldnt find a regular PBS anywhere, except on Towers website, which for whatever reason, is way more expensive than the PCR. All the local LHS's had the PCR, not to mention ebay has a bunch of them on there also. Either way, for the price, they just cant be beat. I paid $419 at my LHS for it. The reason I believe the standard PBS is on its way out is because they have taken the PBS box and stuck a PCR sticker on it. The box still advertises the car as having a purple headed/non pullstart engine. The only difference I can tell is the added laydown servo kit (in a bag) and a black engine head with a plastic purple cover, instead of the purple anodized one. The Hyper 21 engine on the PCR also has a pull start because the lame starter box wont turn over the new engine. Besides those two things, I believe they are the same cars. The PCR is a great bargin!
BTW, the two speed isnt included in any kits, RTR or Pro.
