Sounds like you may have some wires crossed or something, on an electric motor if you change or reverse the connections the motor will turn the other way.
Make sure your wiring is in order and if you do not find any problems, just swith the wires on the motor to get the desired direction.

Also be sure your power panel is operating correctly when you switch.
