I have a Venus 40 and a Matrix 40 and have seen a number of other 40 size
pattern ships fly. If you want, as you say "the best" pattern plane in a 40 size,
a CA Models Widebody 40 would be hard to beat. I haven't flown the 40 but I
have a Widebody 60 and understand that they are almost identical in the way
they fly. Unbelievably good flying airplane, much better than the Venus or any
other 40 size I have seen. Videos on their web site.
