Default Field Battery, Is This Right?

This is probably a stupid question but I just want to be safe....

I purchased some items today (moving up in the world):

* 12V 7AMP sealed acid field battery
* AC adapter with alligator clips to charge the the field battery
* Hobbico Deluxe Power Panel, picture here: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXACW7&P=7

Now, my field box has the space to store the battery and pre-cut hole for the power panel and I simply clip the Power Panel alligator clips to the 12V battery terminals. The field box has a screw-on door to gain access to the battery but I am thinking this is going to be a real pain to gain access to the battery when it comes time to charge it....

So, not knowing too much about electricity other than RED lead goes to RED/positive(+) Terminal and BLACK lead goes to BLACK/negative(-) terminal, I noticed that there is some small text written on the Power Panel in the lower right corner below with "CHARGE FIELD BATTERY" in the "12V STARTER" section.

I know this terminal is outputing 12V cause it says so but does this text also imply that I can leave the 12V battery inside the field box and simply attach alligator clips from the AC adapter directly to the positive/negative terminals on the Power Panel with just some banana plugs inserted?
