I thought that was the purpose of the speed brakes and the AFS ?,so beginners can learn to fly it then take the speed brakes (i say brakes because there are two,one for each wing)and adjust the AFS to nill or like you say disconnect it,you can also take the front things off the wing to prevent stalls and it should really get up and go.
