RE: How to start the motor
I am wondering, does the engine have a spinner on it? A spinner is a conical shaped device that covers the center part of the prop. Is that what you are having problems getting the screws out so you can get to the prop? If so get a small flashlight and look down the screw holes with the light. You may have a small phillips head screw in there and taht is why your allen wrenches will not work. It is possible, only remotely possible you have some Torx screws. They are small cap screws. They look like allen screws especially in the small sizes. However they have a star shaped drive. Allen wrenches will not fit.
Anyway if you cannot get the screws out sacrifice the spinner. Take a hacksaw and cut it off. Spinners are inexpensive, less than 10 bucks for a plastic one. I am assuming your spinner is plastic. If it is not and it is aluminum you will have to get the screws out. Onece the nose is off the spinner you will find a nut holds the prop on. Just take the nut off and screw the prop off. You will probably have to drill the new prop center out to fit the shaft of the engine. !/4" and 6 to 8 mm are the common sizes. It varies from engine to engine. Install the prop and tichten down the nut. If you are using a spinner be sure to locate the prop on the back plate (The flat part of the spinner that goes under the prop, and is attached to the engine.) so that the prop will fit out the holes of the cone without touching the cone. If you cannot do it without touching , you can whittle or sand the cone to fit the prop. That should do the prop replacement.
Now if the prop is damaged. Starting the engine with a damaged prop is dangerous. It will vibrate severely and possibly over rev and damage the engine. It would help us some to know what engine and prop you have. Be sure the prop you buy is apprpriate. For a 40 engine a 10-6 is a good starter. For a 45, 46 an 11-6 should do. 3 bladed props are another matter. You need the same make and size as is on the engine (EVO engines in some trainers have these). Once the prop is on you have had good advice on how to start it. I would also replace the glow plug just for peace of mind. You can get one at any hobby shop, Fox, K&B or OS are good brands. You need a long plug. I hope this will help you get going.
Now please do not take what I will say now personally. I know yopu are angry now. You cannot fix anything if you are angry. I fought this as a proffesional mechanic for years. When angry you just cannot think clearly. The suggestion to go to a field and get help is a good one. It always is nice just to have someone to bounce ideas off or just plain grumble with. You can also get several opinions on how to get it running. Do you have a local hobby shop? There is also a lot of experince there as well. Some cannot or will not help you but most would be glad to get you running.
I hope this helps you. I am sorry for the long post. One last thing when you try to start your plane take a piece of rope and tie the tail to a post or table or something immovable. When the engine does start chances are it will jump foreward. It is very likely that you coud be hurt by the spinning prop. Please be carefull, I would not like to see you hurt. Just please be calm and logical. Read through old posts herte. Try searching for threads on staring engines. There is a gold mine of information here. If you do not know how at the top of the page there is the FAQ button. The procedure is there.
Good luck with your new plane.
