Question for "mec" of Austria
Mec,
Hello! A while back I had posted about the Orbit AECU - this is for the "Full Auto-Start". I had originally posted that the Orbit AECU for full autostart could not be air-started because of the programming of the AECU. You had stated that I was wrong.
I had posted my statement because others who have the same setup as I - Full Auto-start, had been told by some that it couldn't be done. I just accepted that as fact until you posted that this was incorrect information and that it could be air-started with this kind of an ECU.
Well, I tried to air start mine. I unplugged the electric starter from the system and tried several air-starts different ways in order to get it to light off. The minute I unplug the electric starter motor from the system it locks out saying bad glow. The second I plug it back in - everything is fine. I have several others who have tried to airstart theirs also and couldn't get anything at all from it. Orbit claims that you can start a combination of ways with their ECU's but, they never explained how. I e-mailed several times to Orbit and got no response from them.
So, mec, could you please explain to me and others how to do it. I have airstarts and am very familiar with the proper procedures. This is my first Auto-start and have no paperwork or instructions on the procedure to Air-start on a Full-Autostart system with the Orbit electronics. Still to date - the only one that I know of that can do it is the Fadec. Thanks!
Best Regards,
Todd
