Hi Ed - Glad to see you're on the job!! Just kidding! Floats weigh about 12oz. with spreaders. Using aluminum makes the mounting even lighter than using wire. I sometimes use wood for my mounting struts - maple preferably - and us wire as cross bracing with Dubro fittings. All is shown in the Photo Gallery. Cheers
