I've had a lot of good dealings on Ebay, and when it comes to prices, you just have to know what you are looking at. Some sellers on Ebay do start their auctions pretty high, but most get that high from uninformed bidders. Even here on RCU, I see lots of overly-priced items. People sell at a price they think their item is worth, which sometimes includes some "sentimental" value.
Your best bet is to do some research before you bid and ask questions, too.
