For "migrating" toward Pattern... the Goldberg Tiger 60 will work well. It can do the full Sportsman pattern easilly. It tracks very nicely when trimmed out and balanced for the task.

The Sig Four Star 60 works also... but needs a little more weight. (maybe clip the wings a bay each side...) in order to improve resistance to wind gusts bouncing it around.

There are several new ARF's intended for intro level Pattern, most of these range from $150 to $250.
