The first kit I ever built was a Guillows Cub, about 1964. I was about eight.
I remember that the first step in the instructions was to read the instructions, while examining the plans, from beginning to end before putting glue to balsa. I have used this procedure on almost every model I have built since. I highly recommend it for beginners.
I don't always do it anymore. Since I !QUOT!Bash!QUOT! just about every kit I build now, the instructions are useful as a template for how I plan to proceed (I wish that they would double space them)[8D]
