MOST of the time you can't start a new weedie on the mag by hand, due to a combo of low compression and not enough RPM to fire the mag.
HOWEVER MOST of the weedies CAN be started on the mag with a standard HD model starter if you use a larger battery, say like a garden tractor battery.
Even with a battery powered ignition some new weedies won't start by hand because of low compression.
After breakin they are fine and more of the mag weedies can be made to hand start with breakin and pratice.
