"I keep the throttle constant most of the time, even when I TR, I dont see the point on blipping the throttle - waste of battery"

You blip the throttle to give short bursts of air over the control surfaces as you make corrections. It also helps the plane start to roll if your plane has a hard time rolling. Try practicing on a simulator if you have one. Also look at the canopy of the plane instead of the tail when it is verticle.
