I just thought about a couple of other things. When I experimented with "fixing" the ink jet ink, I had some that were just misted with Krylon and some that were sprayed a bit heavier. The ones that were misted cracked as I carefully pulled the decal from the backer and some of the ink was exposed to the water resulting in a ruined decal. The ones that were a bit heavier worked out well, however, too heavy equals a fogged appearance. There is no way to explain how heavy is right so all I can say is to be careful and experiment a bit.
