I will try the teflon tape on mine before I fly this weekend. I am running a APC 15x6 which seems to be the best prop from the other thread on the Aeroworks 540T.
Yes I drilled holes in my muffler. I used a small numbered drill bit and was able to run a hole in the upper flange so that no hole was inside the muffler. I actually used safety wire but any small wire should work for a while before it fatigue cracks. I anchore the wire to a portion of the fire wall that is near the muffler.
