Default RE: Magic Extra 300 Tail

I agree with JSN. the magic extra is a really fun plane to fly. it will do most of the 3D stuff along with just regular fun flying. I'm using an OS 46 FX and unlimited power. I used pull pull wire on the rudder instead of the steal rods supplied because i found it wouldn't center consistently. I will say that you MUST beef up the fuse where the wing saddles. IT is only around 1 inch at the thinnest area and will break really easy. I just had an accident with mine on takeoff. a cross wind got under the wing and flipped the plane over. the fuse snapped above the wing where the canopy area is, and broke the landing gear mount. No other damage. I believe if I had beefed up the area with a length of 1/4 or 3/8 plywood in the fuse, the length of the wing, i probably would have just picked up the plane, re-glued the landing gear block and flown it again. It really is a soft spot. after reading this thread I will beef up the tail also.
