RE: Phoenix Models Giles 202 and Sukhoi ON SALE!!!!
I flew my sukhoi today, this plane is pretty sweet!, it flies like it's on rails and handles like a porsche. Even thou I had the throws way too high, I still felt comfortable at the sticks. The plane came out to 5.5 LBS with the MDS .48 in it, (4) HS-422 & (1) HS-605, 6v 1800MAH pack. I reinforced the wheelpants with a ply-plate, added a plywood wing bolt plate, pull-pull rudder, I also made the leafspring tail wheel that believe it or not is actually lighter than the stock one. I ran into problems with the engine but resolved them and had time left for two good flights, the MDS is running a 11x6 and goes just about vertical, tomorrow I will try an 11x5 and see what happens. For the sport flying I do the engine size is fine, infact I spent most of the flight at 1/2 throttle with full power in the up lines only. "Thumbs Up" for Phoenix models for a super affordable arf that looks great and performs excellent too. I can see now why others are saying that they wish they bought two! Here's some pic's,
