I have both a Rustler and a X-Term.

My X-Term is new and stock.

While my Rustler has hunderds of dollars done on upgrades.

Rustler is about the best little car that I have ever had. Parts are cheap, and can be bought local. Heres something to think about as well.. Buy a car that your local hobby shop has parts for onhand.. i am willing to bet that they will have Traxxas parts first and foremost.


Before you get some serious upgrades in it, its gonna break, but does not cost much to fix at all.. It only breaks because it is so DANG FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!
The rustler is so stinking fast its sometimes not even fun unless you got a dirt runway to play on... But I love speed. Think about it, you turn to fast and reck going 45 mph and all it cost ya is a $3.00 part.. Basically you cant beat the Rustler in overall price, price of parts and avaiblity of parts.

On the other hand, the X-Ter is fast, but not as fast.
For a $300 buggy, this thing is built AWESOME!!!! Its a great buggy to start off with.


I would probally say to start off with a X-Terminator. It is built so much better than the Rustler, even with a huge bunch of upgrades and it is also cheaper!!!!!
Rustlers are good for speed.. Buy accordindly
