Hi Al,
The selling feature of the Regal Eagle is that it does not need a cheeter hole.
Byron jets did have a large bottom cheeter hole.
The byron version does not need inlets.
The engine mounting you mention is what we old pattern flyers cal a sidewinder.
Engine is easier to start and generaly runs smoother and responds to up throttle much faster,also does not lean out loops.
