RE: Combat Models A-10 weight?
Hi Gromitvt
I didn't do the aileron trim tabs. It flew ok without them. I think I rolled it once, but it was a slow roll. I didn't fly it but about 10 minutes before it died and sank like a rock with the 45 motor. I've got a YS-45 now, but haven't put it in yet. Haven't done the bomb stuff yet either. I used the fiberglassing method in the plans and then used some Krylon paint from Walmart that was camo paint. I wouldn't do it again though because you have to be super careful not to get to close at first because the petroleum distillates in the paint will melt the foam. It worked, but I would use some water based paint from a hardware store. You can put it in an air brush gun and shoot it on that way. Don't use too much to keep it as light as possible. Then I used some clear fuelproof from the hobby shop. They say that you can use rc car paint from your hobby shop as I think it is fuelproof too. Findind the right stuff and getting it to work was a pain in the butt for me, but it is done. LEt me know how things go.
