An old wives tale that has it's roots in "some" fact......
If your going to be storing the plane for any long periods of time I would think it could be a good idea to drain the tank and even clean it out, or possibly pitch it and plan on installing a new one at the time the plane is pulled from mothballs....
But this assumes that you would be storing it for years, not months like many of us do over the winter.
Make life easy on yourself and just use the brass tubing, and get the Du-Bro bender, worth every penny.
