Aluminum will not break as easily, but it will bend under hard impact. Aluminum is also usually a bit heavier than the stock "plastic" parts. I have an evader for over a year and only broke the rear shock towers. And even then, it held up for a while with many cartwheels on concrete. I think it is a very durable vehicle. I do have the BX, but they are made of the same material.
