You can go overboard with the testing of all the parts...
Just what are you going to be able to DO to correct a clutch if it doesn't pass your dial idicator testing? (just about nothing) If the egine crankshaft is straight, the clutch system is going to be about as straight as its going to get without buying a new clutch.
Just roll the shafts on a glass tabletop and if there's no appreciable wobbleing noise noted, its probably good. You can hear the difference when you roll a warped shaft vs a straight one. No need to spend the $$$ for a dial indicator. The ones under $50 aren't worth getting and the expensive ones will just drive you nuts with checking more stuff than you need to.
