Well , I have not owned a APACHE , but do own a Teamstrike Gen 3 that is 57 inches and IMO , the duals run a LOT better for steering than the single strudder set-up . There is a LOT more steering abilities and NOT that great a loss with duals . If setup right , and you do NOT use the rudder as is ( meaning , round off the bottom back area where it is initially at a 90 degree angle , and also use them as short as possible - mine were cut down to 4 inches each )
The amount of loss of speed ( per GPS ) was a mere 3/4 MPH >>>>> not much for a sport/play boater to even notice .
The only other mono I own is a 48 incher , which also runs duals . [8D]
Now , on my Systems 7 cat ( 60 incher ) , running twin Zen's , I only use a single . and she handles better with one in the middle than with one behind each strut - so go figure ... [&o]
