To convert from bitmap to .jpg:

Open your picture in the Windows "Paint" program. (Open "Paint" in your "Accessories" from your Programs menu. Then click file, open, and select your picture from wherever you have it stored.)

Once you have your picture open in "Paint", click "file", then "save as". The box underneath the box where you put a file name has an arrow alongside it. Click on this arrow, and then click on ".jpg". Give your file a new name if you want, and click save. You will then have the pic converted and saved as a .jpg.

This will work in other photo programs as well, but everyone has "Paint"!!
