If the engine head is reasonably close to the cowl, it may be possible to bolt the muffler on after the cowl has been fitted.
I do this on a similar sized plans I have where cowl space is limited.
I simply cut a hole, big enough to slip the manifold through and get a spanner in to tighten the locknut.
Would this be possible?
