FNG, hows the orion baja motor hold up? whats the performance like?is it rebuildable? please let me know! I hate to spend 120 bucks for the brushless setup for the plane!
Its holding up fine, its got about 2.5 to 3 hours of run time on it. The brushes are worn about 50% now. Performance has not decade like my GWS did. The brushes are replaceable, no idea how much.

I only had 1 problem with it, a brush pig tail got hung and didn't let the brush travel as the brush wore, an easy field repair.

Performace is Very good, running "D" gear box, I have flown airplanes from 10.6 ox to 12.6 oz, propped from 10x4.7 to 12x6. Running Kokam 1200 or TP1320 (this battery is the #*%@) I love it, I flew my mini flip (10.6 OZ on a 12x6 prop) for 14 miniutes indoor 3D, I was a reck at the end of that. I should note that I did retime it a bit, used the 2 AA battery, sound method.

I must admit I have gone to brushless, Himax 2015, 4100 in the same gear box, I did this for several reasons, mostly I was looking more duration, it does have alittle more power, but not a hole lot more. I also wanted to be able to run 2 aileron servos and my brushed speed control was max out already. For the extra $80 or so, if you can swing it, I'd go with the himax, if not the Orion Baja is a GREAT MOTOR to replace your sick GWS motor.
