As I have been watching this I had to wonder about a bit of overkill. I have Hitec 475's throughout with the exception of the throttle which is a Futaba S-148. Using a 4.8 volt system. I'm normally a Futaba die-hard, but thought I would give Hitec a try since the price was very attractive and I had heard good things about these servos.

Some will say my engine mount is an overkill and heavy. In the end it's all about what you feel comfortable with and how the airplane flies. I just read a thread tonight about a guy with a stock tank in a UCD who had the stopper come out, and fuel soaked his airplane. I always upgrade the tank.

It's hard for me to compare whats right or wrong since this is my first UCD. Joe, having had three of these is by far better informed than any of us on this airplane. I feel this way about my Giles. I have had 3 of these myself and then helped my son with his, so we have had as many as four in the family. No better teacher than experience. I have about 50 flights on my UCD now and the original prop with not one ding in it. Now watch me bust the snot out of the prop this weekend [X(]

Joe, Dave have you guys weighed your birds yet? Mine came in at 7 lbs 14 ounces which I think will be on the heavy side compared to what you guys should get. Will be interested in hearing about this.

I'm not using a pump on my Surpass 91 FS, but then my tank is well forward of the CG in the nose. I tried moving my battery back, and for the life of me end up quickly becoming tail-heavy. I am right on the hairy edge as I have it set up at 4 7/8 from the LE. If I move it back even just a tab the plane shifts to TH. I think the shorter engine mount may have contributed to this because my engine is not as far forward as yours with the stock mount.

Dave, your bird looks just beautiful. Very nice work. You assembled a great looking airplane that's clean and neat.
