G'Day Tim
I'm a newbie at Helli's but I have got to the the stage of Hover and a bit of Flying about!
I own a Venture 30cp as well!
some of the tip's I have pick up on the web for the Venture are!
Do you have the tail rotor rotating so the blades are running anti-clockwise (counter clock wise for our US friends!) looking from the right hand side? this I have been told is so the "up" (front) rotating blades are moving in to the main rotor down draft! (make sense to me!!!)
also I found and article some were on Runryder that states that you should have the blade grips ball link on the tail rotor mounded to the leading edge on the blades!!!! this also make sense to me as this would make that blades lead into the air-stream!!!
More on the engine mounts, theres nothing stopping you from drilling out the engine mounting holes a little as this will help in lining up the starter shaft, then as you loosely mount the engine, you turn the starter shaft with you hand till it turns really freely and smoothly. then tighten the engine up.This will help lot's in smooth running!
I'm a grain farmer so I have plenty of experience in fault finding thing's in machinery!!!! but I'm still learning on these Heli's!!!
Hope I helped in some way?
