Default RE: The bird has flown!!!

Fortunately Tom Fawcette lets me fly most of his planes as I rarely get to bring my own to the field. I have had an opportunity to fly more combinations of WH G202 and engines than most (BME102/100, 3W 100, 3W75, 3W80, G62, ZDZ 80 and the list goes on...) , and I have always said the ZDZ-80 was the best bang for the buck and the ideal mate for this airframe. It fits well, retains the lnes with minimal 'junk' hanging out of the cown when used with a Bisson Pitts style muffler. Performance was above expectation in all areas.

Power/performance - only on a hot, muggy high density altitude afternoon at an IMAC contest in South Texas did the engine seem a bit soft - but then everyones engine was suffering!

Vibration seemed a tad higher than other singles around. The airframe is a stout one, and I had no issue with the vibration levels and the impact on my equipment (actually Toms equipment) or the airframe.
