Default RE: Capiche 140

Oops sorry chaps if I've got you all worrying, must have measured it wrong. Just checked it again and the overall length of the fus, spinner to back of rudder is 811/2 inches or 2072mm.

Now that is still a bit over the 2 metres that Zep mentioned, but bearing in mind we're using a Saito 180 and have got the engine sitting a little forward from the firewall, I reckon we could push it back another 10mm, but that'd be about it. The Saito is a rear induction engine and if you're using a front induction engine (what are the YS's I've got no idea) you could save a total of 50mm from the backplate of the engine to the firewall. So you still need to get 22mm from somewhere, or maybe YS's are shorter?? I've got no idea. For measuring purposes, can you take off the spinner? If so that'd do it 'cos our spinner is 32mm from the end of the crankshaft to the tip of the spinner. But that's assuming you can butt the front induction engine right up to the firewall.

It's going to be close. Very close.

If this measurement is important to to you, then I'd suggest you think about it carefully before finishing the model. Maybe chop a bit off the rudder?
