Default RE: Phoenix Models Giles 202 and Sukhoi ON SALE!!!!

g'day all,

about 50% of the way through my Su31 now. Looking at how to mount my Saito 72. Couple of questions - would appreciate any feedback from those who have mounted a Saito 72 in this beast.

1. The hole pre-drilled in the firewall - is that the centreline reference for the engine thrust line ? This is somewhat off centre -is this normal ? If so, why ?
2. Is the standard 45 degree mounting (inverted to lower right) best for the Saito72? I see that this may allow the exhaust to exit at bottom of cowl.
3. Did you use the standard 45 deg mounting line - or a new reference line ?
4. Is it essential to get the engine as close to the firewall as possible ? I am looking at a Dubro anti-vibe mount but this may lead to a mounting 1inch forward compared to a normal mount. It looks like this may be an issue for cowl mounting (engine too far forward making the cowl look weird??) and perhaps CoG ???
5. Finally - did anyone use a Pitts style muffler ? Brand ??

Any feedback would be post appreciated
