scollins,
First, welcome to RCU, it's a great place, and you'll get a lot of good info.

I'd suggest starting a new thread when you want to ask a new question. But to answer it as best as I can, most 40 size trainers on the market today are pretty decent, andthe Tower 40 is no different. It should serve you and the boys quite well.

What are you getting for an engine? That will have as mush to do with how it performs as anything.

Your experience with a 4 channel electric will help, but without know more about what types of electrics you've flown, it's difficult to say how much.

If you've flown slightly larger, faster electrics, you'll do very well right off the bat with the Trainer (say low wing, fast, speed 400 or bigger), if they've mostly been park flyers, it will take a few flights.

Start a new thread telling what you've been flying, and ask again about the trainer. You'll get a variety of answers.

Good luck,
Dennis-
