Default Dubro tank stopper--mine melted

You're not crazy. The fact is you did nothing wrong. This problem has been around for a long time. There were a mis-colored batch of stoppers produced awhile back (three or four years ago) and they still showing up from time to time.

I too had one of these rouge stoppers in an airplane last year, went dead stick, and totaled my airplane on takeoff.....

Yep, it sure was a stopper that clogged my carb. It had disintegrated in the tank, just as yours did.

The consolation you ask? Dubro said they were sorry about the snafu and would replace the defective stopper. The arrogance. :rolleyes There were many instances of this problem reported on the internet at the time.

That's the reaction I would expect from Great Planes, but to hear it from another manufacturer/distributor is distressing.....Maybe Great pains owns Dubro. Anyone know?
