Joe...Now then..been going round the side thrust thing on the Cyclone ..virtually no room for any up front with a 1.20 welded on...but looking at the vert stab slot ,it seems some offset has been built in here Joe ,whats the Pro's and Con's of eng sidethrust Vs vert stab offset..look at foto for amount..
David, the UCD seems to be proof that the offset vertical stab does not work, or is simply not enough. With the offset incorporated into the UCD by GP engineers, and still requireing minimum of 3 degrees on the mount, (for larger engines) it makes you wonder. Perhaps the manufacturers of the cyclone have figured it out. So much testing on things that have been tested. Can't tell from the pic too well with your big mitts in the way. I would mark the center of the fuse and guide the straight edge against the angled sides and mark that. Within the length of that distance, as opposed to the seperation of the two marks, you could come up with the degree of angle. Unfortunatly, I am not the one to calculate that. We need a math wizz or a programmer to enter the data into a Hal 9000 at the very least. This may be a first, I didn't think that one could bollox up ball links. Nice job on old glory. Joe
