what do you guys think about coring the wings? I think i could cut them then keep the scrap foam in the wing till after i vacuum bag it then it would be extra light hehe.
You would loose some stiffness by coring out the wing. You could re-stiffen it by inserting a spar that would weigh more than the foam you removed. I wouldn't recomend cutting a honecomb pattern either. It's a LOT of work, and doesn't save that much weight. If you choose to vacuum bag the skins to the cores, a honey comb wing will come out looking like a waffle.
