I feel a lot more scared having read that about seeing fresh bear tracks when I was fishing last...! There are no bears in New Zealand though...

Three years ago I grew a small crop of corn here in Japan, and an adult Japanese monkey (they look a bit like baboons- they have big canines) turned up... This is not a very remote place, either- it is suburbon where I live... It didn`t eat our dog though.
