The bubbles rise to the top. The pickup is in the center so that no matter the attitude of the plane, the bubbles will be away from the pickup. I only ran a hopper tank on one of my DFs and it had a normal clunk in it. It worked fine. I never found bubbles to be a problem with DFs.
