David, suprizingly the cowl ordered seperatly for this one is very substantial. 3.2 oz. The past ones varied to the point that on one I had to glass the inside due to how thin it was. They are inconsistant on their production runs. Regardless of thickness you will need cowl binders. The servo grommets with the little brass sleeve work well, but the fuel eats them.
www.pspmfg.com has got some dandies. On the screws coming out., remove them and put a drop of thin CA into the hole and when dry it hardens the threads left in the wood by the screw. I've got my first electric from santa, a GWS Formosa. Been meaning to try one for about 2 years now. Almost done and I'm looking forward to it. I did have to change the colors though. I will never look at a weather report again. It is windy, pouring down rain and dark as night here. Joe
