All of his latest hulls, for quite some time, have been 'Wood Over Foam' and finished in the normal fashion. No glassing. Very lightweight and plenty strong. Also easy to repare if ever needed. The step between all wood and foam/glass.
If his OB hull designs can survive as long as they have, then an airboat should have an even better chance.
