I'd have done it the way you did on three (3) H9
models too if the hardware supplied in the kit had matched the instructions. Yours did, mine didn't.

I'll probably counterbore the LG strut, on the inside of where the threaded part of the axle (1/4" diameter) goes thru. If I take off 5/32" it will let the fibre locknut engage.
