My favourite party trick is catching my plane out of a hover. And this requires ALOT of opposite aileron control to get it to hang still without any wind. What i've found when doing this is that the wind going to the tail gets distorted quite alot by the ailerons and this makes the tail less responsive. I don't like fighting the TR too much cause I sometimes lose control completely over the tail. I think alot of people are going to attack me on this but it is a theory that I have and would like to get some input on this?
