DP Extra canopy fix
Aerobob
I'm flying a DP Extra with a Taurus TS52 turning a Zinger Pro 22x8 prop. I have no problems with this set up, flys very well.
I don't remove my canopy when plugging in the wings. I installed a tongue on both sides of the fuselage through the large hole that the aileron leads pass through. The tongue goes into the wing root about a inch or so. I then drilled down from the top of the wing into the tongue (also about a half inch of lite ply under the top skin of the wing against the root rib) and installed a blind nut for a 6-32 bolt in the tongue. This also adds anti-rotation protection.
I'm also assembling a DP Extra for a friend. This one has diagonal ribs between the the aileron ribs. I didn't notice if mine has these ribs, keep forgeting to look. The advantage of the ARC is you can add balsa blocks in the wing and ailerons for robart hinge points. I used large pined hinges, nine in mine and seven in the new one (larger hinges).

P.S. If your ailerons dont have these diagonal ribs now will be a good time to add them before you cover.
