Default OS .90 C-Spec with pump

Hey Heli guys,
Just a quick question for you perry pump familiar guys. I recently purchased a Raptor .90 with a OS.90 C-spec motor with pump. Ive had about 10 flights on it so far, other than it being quite thirsty it has run absolutely flawless and smooth. My only concern is the perry pump with regard to longevity and reliability. In my book simplicity leads to reliability and am curious if any one out there has any ideas/suggestions as to the expected longevity of the pump and what its potential failure modes are. Is it a diaphram type pump? And if so, will the diaphram deteriorate over time or is it of a durable material. I have heeded the warning in the OS manual to run it completely dry at the end of the day and will continue to do so. In hindsight, was the pump really necessary or is it just another potential weakest link in the chain? Happy flying and any landing you walk away from is a good one!
