Flight performance of all aerobatic planes will be similar since they are designed for the same purpose. Less than a 5% difference could be expected. Differences do make a plane that will excel at one thing and not as well in others. In short a design is always a compromise. Hope the following helps:

Extra 300 and CAP232 (also the CAP231EX) share the same general wing. Four way tapered with leading and trailing edge taper and thinning from root to tip. The Extra has the Stabilizer mounted closely in line with the Vertical Fin/Rudder where the CAP's have the Stabilizer mounted forward of the Fin/Rudder. This makes the elevator more sensitive on the CAP and makes for exciting 3D with the CAP. The Extra would fly a little smoother and the CAP be a little better at 3D. CAPs exhibited quite a bit of roll/pitch coupling with application of Rudder due to the high engine placement, low wing and forward high stab placement. A computer radio is needed to mix these out.

The Giles and Edge have almost opposite wing platforms (within the range of aerobatics). The Giles has a straight Trailing Edge where the Edge has a straight Leading edge. Many recent pattern planes have a straight trailing edge for axial rolling qualities. The Edge straight leading edge makes the wing harder to stall so 3D performance is good. Many low scores have been received with the Edge in spin maneuvers as the plane doesn't have a clean stall break. If the judge thinks the spin was entered from a snap roll then a 0 (zero) is awarded. If you compare an Edge to a Laser it will be almost the same plane with the exception of the Edge straight leading edge.

Overall I think the Extra has the best compromise for flight performance. Your choice however will depend on your own goals. It is somewhat like cosing ice cream flavors as opinions will differ.
