I have owned two T-Maxx's (one just about given to me by a really frustrated friend), sold them both, bought a Savage 25.
I found the T-Maxx fragile, and the engine was a quirky and unreliable on both trucks. I ran into a small bush in my front yard and
couldn't believe the parts I broke:
Front Skid
A-Arm
Bent pivot bolts
Front Bulk head
one shock
But the hobby shops LOVE the T-Maxx. I wonder why? Can you say replacement parts? $$$$$
Ever notice RPM doesn't make those cool nylon parts for the Savage? Why? No market for them. I.E. it doesn't need tougher parts.
I think more people would buy the Savage if it came with REVERSE. I chose (as well as several other ppl I know) chose the T-Maxx over the Savage because it came with a reverse. Here's the thing: I found the REVERSE on the T-Maxx rarely worked when I needed it to. Under a load, it (they, both trucks) simply would not shift into reverse.
The Savage on the other hand has never not shifted into reverse! What a superior system.
The Revo is a fixed up T-Maxx, fixing the problems that it had from day one, but one thing stopping me from buying a Revo is that POS TRX engine...
