It sounds like you are too rich. Change the glow plug. Also when the engine gets to the point of back fireing, you have too much fuel in the crankcase and the exhaust pipe. Pull the plug, hold it upside down and pull the crank rope a few times. Then roll the boat around to drain the fuel out of the pipe. re-install the plug and try it again. What % of nitro are you running?
