CVT ... somethimes is good that the gear is not reinforced too strong. This will allow the platform where the gear is attached to to tear out rather than hurting the whole fuse. Get my drift?

It would be great for a plane that size to have a 23 oz wing loading. But at 26 oz its still acceptable. My 40 sized Raven is about 27 oz but flies nicely. The wing design will also come into play. From what I have seen the Velox flies very nice.

Careful about what mods you make ... so far there is not report of the wing tearing apart, unlike the GP Lancair. But again with the YS110 you may need to work something out for the win.
