I've always mounted my gassers inverted, but I can't tell you why.....Its just what everyone else does 8^) The mounting plate is really heavy. I would take it off. There are some good pics and mounting instructions for using this engine without the plate. I didn't do it on mine and wish I would have. Just too lazy to take it of at this point. With the slimline muffler it pulls out of a hover just great so why bother? I did just buy another G26 and as soon as it comes the plate is comin' off!
