Default 116 liftoff problem

I've got a 116 with the Vmax-6 on it. I bought used and got the crutch all fixed up, a couple of the glue joints had popped loose. Re-painted all. I tached the rotor blades and they were doing 2100 rpm. This seems to be plenty high. Seems like the first time I start it up there is pretty good power, but successive runs seem pretty weak power wise. I am still in the learning stage and hovering in my driveway. But after scooting around the ground for a few minutes I try to take it up and at full power it won't seem to get off the ground much over a foot. I've run many 1/2A engines, and have tried both a little rich and a little lean with no real success. I'm running with 1 head gasket.

I had one flight where it went up roughly 12 feet and I cut the throttle back, of course it started coming down fast, so I went to full throttle, but not quick enough, it came down pretty hard. boom strike.
It has the blade grips with the 4 dots on them. I just ordered new blades for it and got the new 10x5's instead of the 10x2's. Could it be that the blades just don't have enough pitch to them to get it in the air? I've read about guys taking off at less than 1/2 throttle, but I have to be a 3/4 to full to even lift off at all.

I need to replace the mainshaft as there is some wobble to it.

Any ideas from the experts?

Thanks
